Transition Time

Hey NorthStar we got off to a great start on Sunday with our transition to our new location at the Columbus Baptist Association. We moved numerous chairs and tables to the storage facility and thanks to all who gave a helping hand. YOU ROCK!

Here is a brief time line for our relocation:

Sunday Dec. 6 @ 2 PM - Tour new facility to determine set up and needed equipment and supplies

Sunday Dec. 13 - Move more "stuff" to storage

Sunday Dec. 20 - 10:30 AMFinal Worship Service at present facility

Sunday Dec. 20 - 2 PM - Move all remaining supplies and equipment from present facility to storage or trailer

Sunday Dec. 27 - No services today!

Saturday Jan. 2, 2010 - Set up for first service @ CBA

Sunday Jan. 3 - 10:30 AM - First service @ CBA!

Let's make sure we express a great big THANK YOU to Jimmy Blanton and the Columbus Baptist Association for opening their doors to us in this time of need. Our prayer is that God will use us while we are there to make a difference for the Kingdom in that area. Everywhere we go people still need the Lord!

Coming Up Quick

I want to send out a great big THANK YOU to our ROCK THE BLOCK leader, Jackie Landreau, and all the folks who helped make RTB a great event. We had 32 registered guests who are prospective folks for NorthStar! God is so good.

As we are remembering a great event, let us also look ahead to some fast up and coming opportunities:

First is SNA (Saturday Night Alive) for Students, this Saturday Nov. 7 beginning @ 6:30 PM. SNA is always a great night for our students and their friends as they gather together, worship, eat, play some great games and have an awesome speaker to challenge them.

Then, on Sunday Nov. 15 we have Parent/Child Dedication.

Next comes Operation Christmas Child. This year our goal is to produce 50 shoe boxes for this awesome ministry. Now there is a new twist to OCC: KidzWay Kidz will be putting the boxes together! All we need to do is provide the shoe boxes and the items for the boxes and the Kidz will put them together on Nov. 22 which is our shoe box dedication day! Check your worship folder this weekend for a detailed list of items to bring.

And after the Thanksgiving Holidays we begin to focus on our move! Our lease ends here on December 31 and we have lots to do as we prepare for the next step in our journey as a church!

I'm excited about the upcoming possibilities of this next step! More details are coming soon.

In the meantime, let's finish out 2009 in a great way by faithfully attending and bringing more families that need a great church and need the Lord. And lets remain faithful in our giving of our tithes and offerings.

We want to sprint across the finish line here at these facilities and not limp or barely make it. And this race is more fun when we all are participating!
